The World Is Yours

Some things reach us before we understand how deeply they have entered us. The World Is Yours began as an homage to Young Jeezy and to the impact his music carried through the trap generation. Rather than reproduce his image through portraiture, King OG translated that influence into abstraction — layer upon layer of memory, pressure, ambition, disruption and becoming. During its creation, every hand living within the house at that time touched or worked upon the painting in some way. The work changed. What began as homage became inheritance. What belonged to one man's memory became evidence of a household. For that reason, The World Is Yours remains a permanent, view-only work within the King OG archive. It closes THEY HEARD because the album begins with what the world has heard about a man and ends with what has actually made him: experience, relationship, culture, brotherhood, family and code.

The pale horizontal band across the upper field is Morse code. It reads THE WORLD IS YOURS. The painting does not depict a transmission — it is one. Beneath it, fragments lie buried under fragments; white fields cover without erasing; marks appear, are buried, and return elsewhere. The work behaves like memory itself. The signal was received. The life was lived. The house left its mark.
